Tim Holtz 12 Tags of 2016 - June

Hallo! Here is my version of the Tim Holtz tag for June 2016. Mine is actually not a tag at all, but a card. I decided to use the good ole Umbrella Man for my card. I make a lot of cards for men, so Mr. Umbrella Man comes in handy sometimes. My blue background is made of white gift wrap tissue and colored with Gelatos. The man is sticky back canvas and the plaid is made using the Stripes layering stencil and mini distress inks. I made my own raindrop stencil from cardstock using "Sure Cuts A Lot" software and my Cricut and then just traced the raindrops with a Pitt pen. I added a custom sentiment with various alphabet stamp sets using black Archival ink. And there you have it!

Tim Holtz 12 Tags of 2016 - May

Hi there! Here is my version of the Tim Holtz tag for May 2016. As you will see, I went with a slightly more whimsical design. One of my favorite quotes is from comedian Paula Poundstone. It goes like this:

"The problem with cats is that they get the exact same look on their face whether they see a moth or an axe-murderer."

Because I am currently owned by three fabulous felines, I am very familiar with that "look"!

Tim Holtz 12 Tags of 2016 - April

Hello everyone. Here I am smack dab in the middle of the month with a completed project. What happened that I finished so early? I don't know! I was trying to find Tim's Paper Mosaic kit locally, but could not find it. So I thought I would do the best I could with what I have, I must say I am very pleased with the results. I die cut the Bird Silhouette with chipboard and ran it through my Xyron machine. Then I cut snippets of scrap cardstock and adhered them to the bird. Finally, since I do not have Tim's "grout", but I do have some of his Distress Embossing powder in Milled Lavender, I poured it on and it adhered perfectly to the Xyron-ed bird in between all the paper scrap tiles. I heat set it, but I really don't know if that was even necessary. I then inked the edges of the bird with some distress ink in Gathered Twigs ink and adhered it to a paint resist background. Oh, and this month, for whatever reason, I felt like making a card instead of a tag!

Tim Holtz 12 Tags of 2016 - March

Howdy. I have an Easter tag for you this month. It is my version of the Tim Holtz tag for March 2016. I went for a brighter palette for my tag. Since I do not yet have the Distress Crayons, I used the four Gelatos that I own but never use. I discovered that this type of medium is cool. I was kind of on the fence about the Distress Crayons before, but now I NEED THEM!

I hope you are inspired, and enjoy my tag. Peace.

Tim Holtz 12 Tags of 2016 - February

Hello world. Here is my version of the Tim Holtz Tag for February 2016. After giving it a first attempt with Tim's brown palette, I decided I wanted a LOT more PINK on mine! I used spun sugar, picked raspberry, and candied apple distress inks, and also used some fired brick distress glitter.

I enjoyed making this tag, and I hope you like it too! Peace.

Tim Holtz 12 Tags of 2016 - January

Hello! Here I am again, getting my tag done at the last minute. Yikes! I will do better from now on! This month's tag revisits two previous techniques, and happens to include one of my very favorites: Industrious Metal. It is so easy and looks so cool! Since I am so late, I will cut to the chase and show you my version.
